ABOUT
YANKY
His name notwithstanding, Yanky Fachler was not born in the
land of the Yanks but in the UK. After completing his BA and
MA at Brunel University, Yanky moved to Israel where he worked
in marketing communication, and was very active in the world
of theatre. He was an actor, director and producer, he founded
a national amateur drama league, he edited a drama magazine,
he directed an annual national drama festival, and he served
on the executive board of the Tallinn-based International
Amateur Theatre Association. He met Mona at an international
drama festival in Ireland, and after wooing her long-distance
for 5 years, he made Ireland his base in 1998.
Yanky
has two gifted sons. Ashi lives in San Diego, California,
where he is a design practitioner (www.tada.com), a teacher,
and an accredited court interpreter (www.hebrewinterpreter.com).
Amit lives in Israel with his wife Nogah and Yanky's grandson
Uri. Amit trained as a professional actor, and is currently
completing his doctorate in psychotherapy. Nogah works as
a speech therapist.
